Why does cancer have to affect innocent kids?

I hope someday that is no longer a question- thanks to the dedicated work and research at St. Jude's Children's Hospital. My sister's nephew, Jack, passed away last week from luekemia. He was six....

No mother (or father) should ever have to bury their child. Avannabel Baby is proud to be a Partner in Hope for St. Jude. This is an easy way for you and me to support a worthy children's charity. For a small donation per month, you too can help children devastated by the many childhood cancers. Jack was diagnosed as a baby and his short life consisted of many hospitalizations, chemotherapy treatment, bone marrow transplants, etc. Throughout his ordeals, he remained a positive and upbeat kid. I finally met him last Christmas. I was immediately struck by his free spirit and constant smile. Jack-you touched many people including myself. I will no longer be someone who sits back and says how horrible cancer is while hugging my kids close and letting out a sigh of relief that it is not my chld. No, I will BE an activist and do something. Being a partner in hope is a start and I encourage you to become involved.

A special invitation...
You are invited to become a Partner In Hope®.
Give hope to a child stricken with cancer by supporting St. Jude through our monthly Partner In Hope program.
Our Partner In Hope family is made up of a very special group of our most loyal supporters who give St. Jude the necessary financial resources to ensure that no child is ever turned away because of a family’s inability to pay.
As a Partner In Hope, you'll be making a vital difference in the lives of children who need your help by providing the funds to pay for the chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries our patients desperately need. Many of our donors give $19 a month – about $.63 a day – while some give more and some give less. Whatever amount you choose, your dollars will give a critically ill child a second chance at life.
When you join our Partner In Hope program, as soon as we receive your first monthly gift, you will begin receiving:
Monthly stories and photos of the children you are helping
A “Portraits of Hope" photo album to display your monthly pictures
Quarterly newsletters featuring the latest St. Jude medical and research breakthroughs
An annual copy of the St. Jude calendar featuring the art and stories of St. Jude patients
A holiday card you can sign and return with your own personal message of encouragement and support for the children of St. Jude as they fight to win their battles against cancer

Rest in peace, Jack. You are loved and missed.
